Wolfpack Dining at Panera Bread

Join us on Tuesday, December 8th, at the Panera Bread near Mayfaire for this month's Wolfpack Dining Night! Fundraiser hours are 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and you must show a copy of the flyer in order for WECHS to receive credit. (See the flyer link below.) The more flyers that are turned in, the higher our percentage, so feel free to share with your family, friends, and neighbors!
  • 20-30 Flyers: 10% of net sales from redeemed flyers
  • 31-49 flyers: 15% of net sales from redeemed flyers
  • 50+ Flyers: 20% of net sales from redeemed flyers

Let Your Imagination Fly!

Entries are currently being accepted for the PTA's  Reflections Program, a national contest to recognize and promote art in our schools. This year's theme is Let Your Imagination Fly. The deadline for applications is November 16th.  

Students may submit art in one or more of the following categories: dance, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts. Click on this link for more information: General Rules for Participation.

Additionally, each category has its own guidelines for how art is to be submitted. For example, in the film production category, videos are to be submitted on CD, DVD, or flash drive; must not exceed 5 minutes; and should be in one of the following file formats: AVI, MOV, MPG, MPEG, MP4, WMV, FLV or F4V. All of the rules for each specific art form can be found at NCPTA.org.

WECHS is permitted to submit 30 entries.  Please contact Amy Bonds at (910) 471-3528 for an application.

Reflections Entries Due By November 16th

The Reflections Program is sponsored by the National PTA as a way to promote and recognize arts in our schools.  Students can compete in the following categories:

  • dance choreography
  • film production
  • literature
  • music composition
  • photography
  • visual arts
This year's theme is "Let Your Imagination Fly." Entries from WECHS will be sent to the county for judging against other area high schools. Winners will then go on to regional, state, and national competitions. 

This is a great opportunity for our talented students to be recognized for their abilities above and beyond academics! We are permitted to submit 30 entries, and students may participate in more than one category.

Wolfpack Dining on October 18th at Texas Roadhouse

Wolfpack Dining is coming up! Join us any time between 11:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 18th, at the Texas Roadhouse located at 230 Eastwood Road (near Kohl's).

Take a copy of the attached flyer with you and present it to the waitress. WECHS PTSA will receive 10% of your total bill. You MUST show the flyer in order for us to get credit. Please share the flyer with friends, family, and neighbors!

Please return any unsold Attractions Books by Thursday, October 8thAll payments and book orders must be turned in by Thursday in order to be eligible for prizes.

Attractions Books are $25 each.  Checks should be made payable to WECHS PTSA. You may also purchase them online by going to attractionsbook.com/ezpay and using the code wechs.

Attractions Book Sales Update

Attractions Book sales have begun! To date, we are at about 30% of our total sales goal. October 8th is the last day to turn in book orders to be eligible for prizes. Speaking of prizes...
  • Any student who sells 10 or more books will be entered into a drawing with the randomly selected winner receiving $50! 
  • The STAE class with the most books sold will receive $50 towards a class party!
  • Students who sell 5 or more books will be entered into a drawing to receive a $10 Chick-fil-A gift card! Five winners will be randomly selected!
Ninth and tenth grade students received their books and sales information on August 18th. Upperclassmen are welcomed and encouraged to participate! Please contact Amy Bonds at (910) 471-3528 if you are an upperclassmen who would like a sales packet. Upperclassmen ARE eligible for prizes.

The cost of an Attractions Book is $25.  The PTSA retains $10 on the sale of every book.  Checks should be made payable to WECHS PTSA. If you elect to use EZPay, follow this link:  attractionsbook.com/pay and enter the code: wechs.  When using EZPay ONLY, you will receive one free book for every five that you sell.

Remember: all orders and unsold books are due on Thursday, October 8th.  Please return books and orders in their original envelope. Prize winners will be announced on Club Day on October 16th. Thank you for supporting WECHS!

Wolfpack Dining Nights Get Underway

Wednesday, September 16th ~ 5 to 8 p.m. ~ Chick-fil-A at Mayfaire

Last year's Wolfpack Dining Nights were such a huge success that the executive board had decided to schedule them monthly this year, when possible. Our very first Wolfpack Dining Night will be held on Wednesday, September 16th, at the Chick-fil-A in Mayfaire. Please join us between 5 and 8 p.m. The PTSA will receive a portion of the proceeds from all orders placed between 5 and 8 p.m.--dine in, take out, drive thru, and even party platters ordered for an event at a later date!

In addition to supporting the school, it's a great opportunity to meet other WECHS families and staff members.  Executive board members will be running a Plinko game.  For a donation of $1, you'll be able to win Chick-fil-A coupons for free food, such as their new Frosted Lemonade.  Who's hungry?

PTSA Open House

Please join us from 5 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8th.  The WECHS PTSA will hold a brief General Assembly meeting, followed by an Open House.  During the meeting, we will introduce the executive board leadership, approve the budget, and make announcements regarding upcoming PTSA events.  Hope to see you there!

Join the PTSA! 

By now you should have received a membership application for WECHS PTSA. Forms are now available online thanks to Ms. Adiko. Simply click the Quick Link on the WECHS home page. Print the WECHS PTSA Membership Form, fill it in, and return it to school along with payment.  

Membership is open to students, parents and other family members, and school staff. Dues are only $5 per person and go to support PTSA projects and programs such as honor roll recognition, teacher appreciation, and student events such as the Chili Cook-off, Prom, and Night of the Arts.  

We encourage you to join and show your support for the students and staff of WECHS!

WECHS Bake-Off on Thursday

Don't forget that this coming Thursday, March 26th, is the WECHS Bake-Off, jointly sponsored by the SGA and the PTSA.  Prizes will be awarded to the contestant selected by the judges as the best overall baker.  Also, attendees will vote on the People's Choice winner.  

The event will be held in the WECHS lobby.  Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and admission is $2 per person.  This fee entitles you to samples of the baked goods, tickets to participate in the Cake Walk, and to other fun family events.

Who Will Be the Next Great Baker?

Make plans to attend the WECHS Bake-off on Thursday, March 26th, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Submit your baked item for the chance to win. The entry fee for contestants is $5. All are welcome to attend and sample the delicious entries. Admission is $2 per person and includes participation in Cake Walks, voting for your favorite entry, and other activities.
